Retül Fit FAQs

  • Like for all our services, you will receive an insurance receipt including the practitioner’s license number. Retül Fit services are billed as naturopathy or chiropractic assessments and treatments depending on the available practitioner. We strongly recommend checking beforehand with your insurer what amount will be covered under your particular plan.

  • We partnered with La Shop, located at 139 boul. De l’Hopital in Gatineau to offer Retül Fits out of their bike shop where they have a dedicated fit room. They have an excellent reputation and stock everything we need to make sure you get the best fit and equipment.

  • Well, once you see the Retül Müve Bike you’ll understand why fitting on any road going bike limits the range of adjustments and ability to swap or try on parts to optimize your fit. We can easily and accurately replicate your current setup or a new bike you’re interested in on the Retül Müve Bike in a matter of minutes before the fit process even begins. You can find videos here explaining in more details the whole process.

  • The report generated after your Retül Fit can be used by most professional bicycle technicians to transfer over your personalized data points to your bike. Most shop will charge an hourly rate and depending on your results and bike setup, some parts like stem, seat post or handlebar may need to be changed in order to attain your optimal fit.

  • Keep in mind the insurance billable $400 fee does not include any accessories or replacement parts recommended during the fit like footbeds, saddle, handlebar, stem or shop time if you want one of La Shop’s mechanic to apply the fit data to your own bike(s). There is no obligation after on your part to purchase any of these extras (if there are any) but our goal is to achieve your optimal fit and that sometimes requires the proper equipment.

  • Shop fees and delays to transfer the fit data to your bike(s) depends on several factors. Some bikes (especially 2020+ models) often have integrated cables which makes it much more complex and in some cases require cutting hydraulic hoses to swap out parts. Other bikes have brand or model specific components that might not be available on hand and would need to be sourced out.

That being said, La Shop has dedicated technicians that are used to work with Retül Fit reports and as such, can prioritize our customers into a 48-72h turnaround window. After your session, your fitter can help you get things organized with La Shop’s service department. Just let them know you’re interested!

  • Of course! Get your friends, your squad or your entire club onboard and we can work out a special volume discount. Get in touch with us and let’s talk!

  • Make sure to bring your current bicycle if applicable, shoes, cycling clothing and a water bottle. If you have any other saddles, stem, handlebars or accessory, bring them as well. Bring any extra headset spacers or hardware that you have in case you want to leave your bike to get the fit transferred over after.

  • While our fitters are certainly able to guide you in your purchases, they prefer to spend their time with you fitting and not shopping! La Shop’s staff are trained to use some of the Retül tools we also use to help you choose the proper saddle, shoes and footbeds so we strongly recommend you make your purchases beforehand in order to maximise your time with us.

  • Spring and early summer (March to June) are the busiest time for both first time Retül Fits and Annual Retül Fit (Stage 3) but it’s the best time to start off your season right. Mid summer to end of fall is also a good timing since you’re most likely going to have a few rides in and already in tune with your feelings and impressions on the bike. Lastly, the colder months are also popular for riders training indoors. A more static position riding on a turbo trainer means discomforts or injuries are more common and should be addressed before they get problematic.

  • As season change, your flexibility, strength and goals also do. Most of our customers comeback every year for an Annual Fit (Stage 3) where we make small changes according to their current situation.

  • Yes and No. While it is not recommended to make any drastic changes to fit prior to a big ride, event or trip, doing a Retül Fit will at least provide a clear picture of your ideal riding position so we can objectively compare it to your current on bike position. Even if only small changes are needed to attain your optimal fit, you could still experience minor discomfort or peak performance drop while your body adjusts to the changes. Proceed with caution!

  • Even small changes to your usual riding position can result in temporary discomfort or peak performance drop. Give your new fit a chance. It is generally recommended to stick to the changes for at least three weeks to allow for your body to balance out and adapt. Reduce mileage or intensity and ramp up gradually if you initially feel off on the bike. If after this three-week period you still feel off, get it contact with your fitter to schedule a follow up.
